President's Message

Hello and welcome to Convention 2011. I feel privileged to be this year's President of SEATCA. I have a passion for Professional Development and trying to meet the needs of educators. This will be my 21st year at this very convention, and I enjoy the collegiality, fun and new ideas that convention brings.

This year our theme asks us to look at the past, present and ponder the future of education. Times have certainly changed with globalization, increased needs of students and families and increased demands on our profession. How has our practice evolved with the changes in family structure, curriculum and of course technology?

As you attend this year's presentations and sessions, and meet with colleagues and friends, I hope you find the support, encouragement and enjoyment you look forward to each year at this time.

At the Opening Ceremonies, you will be provided with a sessions 'at-a-glance' sheet. On the back will be an evaluation form. Please fill it in as you attend the sessions of your choice and drop it in the collection boxes, available on Friday afternoon.
